The De Vere Academy was proud to announce that we stand by Raymond Blanc and London Mayor Boris Johnson to encourage more restaurants, pubs and hotels to recruit more apprentices
At the prestigious event held at Brasserie Blanc, the pair joined forces to help plug the skills gap and give more young people a chance to create a career in hospitality.
Brasserie Blanc has pledged to take on 21 apprentices this year who will be employed across the restaurant group and take on a number of roles from front of house to the kitchen.
The De Vere Training Company will be mentoring and assessing all of the apprentices during their employment to help them become future stars of our industry.
Blanc said; “I’m self taught and it was hard, I longed for a mentor to guide me through my career, so I am 100% behind the Mayor’s drive to bring as many young people into our business and to give them the best chance to excel”
Yvette Flood, mother of one of the apprentices, Amber Flood who has come to work in the prestigious Blanc restaurants, said; “I am very proud of Amber, she has a lot to give and wants to accomplish many things. I’m sure with all your help that and there will be many successes for Amber and to help her achieve her dreams.”
